About Me

Hey Friend! I am so happy you’re here!

As I write this I am sitting comfortably on my love-seat holding my two-month old daughter in one hand and typing on my laptop with the other. As a new mom I am learning how to do almost any task one-handed.

Get to know me better…

My name is Kaitlin (Kate) Hope Collum, and I am married to my best friend, Tyler Collum. He and I just became parents to our adorable baby girl, Aurora (and yes, I did name her after Sleeping Beauty). The three of us enjoy spending every day together playing board games, chilling outside on our porch swing, binging a TV series, or experiencing something new together.

Why A Blog?

My passions and reasons for starting this blog are watercolor, painting, illustrating, and teaching, and that is exactly what you will find every time you visit ReflectingCreation.com. On this blog, I will share tutorials, show my artwork, and take you on adventures through my art journal. To learn more about why I started blogging check out my post on 3 Reasons to Start An Art Blog

Why Watercolor?

I fell in love with watercolor in 2015. I always enjoyed painting and wanted to choose a medium to focus on. My mom was currently painting using watercolors and it inspired me to pick up that medium for myself. It didn’t take long before I couldn’t resist the beautiful effects only watercolors could make. With a little practice, I began creating all different types of paints to give away as greeting or holiday cards. When my cards were received positively it encouraged me to try bigger and better things. Now I will be sharing my art process with you through this blog.

Art is a great way to reflect God’s beautiful creation. Please join me in reflecting creation through art!

About the Creator

Have you ever looked at the world around you, and have seen the beautiful creation and wondered who made all of this? The Bible has the answer! It says God is the Creator of this world in Genesis 1:1 “In the beginnig God created the heavens and the earth.”

That same God that created everything we see wants us to know Him personally. Not only does He want a relationship with us, He wants to give us the gift of eternal life n Heaven with Him, saving us from an eternity in Hell. Would you like to know how you can be on your way to Heaven when you die? Below is how you can personally have a relationship with the Creator and know how to be eternally secure.

The Bible Says:

God Loves You

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

All Have Sinned

Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

Jesus Paid Our Debt

Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Its A Free Gift

Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

All You Have To Do Is Ask

Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Thank you for taking the time to read this far! I hope if you haven’t already accepted Christ as your Savior you will take the time and ask Him now. If you have accepted Him as your personal Savior, I want to say congratulations!
